The course can be built on by attending Parkour For Schools Continuing Professional Development (CPD) days, accessing more lesson plans and teaching aids to help you stay updated and provide great content all year round for the students.

Yoga is the perfect mix of exercise, learning new & interesting activities and topics. In addition
to the many healthy benefits from doing yoga here are some of the benefits to including yoga
in your school sporting curriculum.

In this workshop you will learn how we can insert yoga movement breaks and activities
into a PE class or as part of a coaching program. Teaching practices that can include both
primary & secondary years in schools.

We will look at how the child learns and how yoga can assist in not only strengthening the
body and mind but also tone the nervous system and energise the harmonise the mind to assist
with learning & inspiring their sporting endeavours.

Workshop fee includes morning and afternoon tea + lunch, as well as transport to and from the official conference hotel to the location.

Jenny SmithJenny is Hong Kong’s first children’s yoga teacher registered with the Yoga Alliance. Having trained directly with Shakta Kaur Khalsa and Sonia Sumar, the ‘grandmothers’ of children’s yoga, she is also a certified facilitator of the Radiant Child Yoga Program® and Basic Yoga Therapy “Yoga for the Special Child”. Additionally, Jenny is a certified kids and teens yoga teacher by Next Generation Yoga, since hosting Jodi Komitor in Hong Kong. A registered yoga teacher E-RYT 200, pre/postnatal and baby yoga teacher. Jenny is a member of the Yoga Alliance, the International Association of Yoga Therapists, & Birthlight – a world pioneer in the research and development of Pregnancy and Baby Yoga. Currently completing her studies to become a Birthlight Tutor in Perinatal and Baby Yoga as well as her Advanced 500hr Hatha Yoga Teacher Training. Jenny is also an advanced practitioner of TTYMA (Traditional Thai Yoga Massage).

Founded in 2009, Gecko Yoga came about when Jenny decided to combine her passion for yoga with her love of children. Described by Shakta Kaur Khalsa as “a creative and dynamic woman who is deeply dedicated to the heart and soul of children and to the practice of yoga for personal transformation”, Jenny herself says simply: “I want children to reap the benefits of yoga whilst having fun”.


A certificate of attendance Yoga for Teens by Gecko Yoga ™ Registered Yoga School will be provided at the end of the 6 hour session. This is recognised as Continuing Educational Units (CEUs) by Yoga Alliance as Gecko Yoga™ is a Registered Children’s Yoga School.


Gecko Yoga™ is Hong Kong’s only Yoga Alliance Registered Children’s Yoga School (RCYS). Established in 2009, Gecko Yoga™ is the first internationally accredited Children’s Yoga Teacher Training school in Hong Kong and the first in Asia.
